Christopher Carragher attended Our Lady's Secondary in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan. In sixth year he was nominated the SciFest SFI STEM Champion 2014. As a result he went on to represent Ireland at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2015 where he was awarded second place in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics category.
Christopher studied mechatronic engineering at DCU and graduated with first class honours in 2019. He currently works as an Autonomous Systems Engineer at Combilift in Vancouver, Canada.
This video is an extract from a talk Christopher gave in March 2021 for Engineers Ireland NorthEast Region entitled 'The Career Story of a Young Engineer'. In it he talks about his SciFest project and encourages second-level students to get involved.
