Regeneron ISEF 2025 marked the 75th anniversary of the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest and most prestigious STEM competition for second-level students. Held in Columbus, Ohio from May 10–16, the event brought together nearly 1,700 finalists from across almost every U.S. state and more than 60 countries, regions, and territories, with over $9 million in prizes awarded for outstanding research and innovation.

SciFest was once again proud to be part of this extraordinary international event. Representing Ireland was the 2024 SciFest STEM Champion, Maura Moore-McCune, who achieved an outstanding 4th Place Grand Award in the highly competitive Biomedical Engineering category, which featured over 100 projects. In addition, Maura was honoured with a Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program Award, recognising the global significance and potential of her work. Congratulations to Maura, to her teacher, Ciaran O’Connor and to her school, The King's Hospital School.

In the 13 years since SciFest first began participating in ISEF, SciFest students have now secured a total of 17 major awards, highlighting the strength and creativity of Ireland’s next generation of scientists and engineers.

It was an exciting and rewarding week at Regeneron ISEF, a reminder of the value of curiosity, perseverance, and opportunity in shaping future STEM leaders. We extend our sincere thanks to the Society for Science and Regeneron for delivering another world-class event.
