Huawei Becomes Gold Sponsor

Huawei Joins SciFest as Gold Sponsor

SciFest is proud to announce that Huawei has joined its growing sponsor community. Huawei has become a gold sponsor.

SciFest, established in 2006, is designed to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education through the provision of a forum for students at a local, regional, and national level to present and display their scientific investigations.

As a company committed to fostering innovation and supporting STEM education initiatives, Huawei recognises the importance of encouraging young minds to pursue careers in STEM. The company is sponsoring the communication award at the 16 regional SciFest STEM fairs. This award recognises the students who best explain the aim, results and impact, of their investigations. By becoming a SciFest sponsor, Huawei aims to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technologists to explore their passions and contribute to the advancement of society.

SciFest’s founder and CEO Sheila Porter said: “Huawei is now one of a growing and diverse community of sponsors who are ensuring the support and development of students in the area of STEM. Our SciFest events take place in schools and colleges all over the country, and we know that many of the students are interested in the technology of the future.”

Huawei Technologies Ireland CEO Calvin Lan added: “At Huawei, we understand the significance of nurturing curiosity and creativity in STEM disciplines. By investing in events like these, we hope to empower individuals to pursue their interests and make meaningful contributions to the world. Huawei’s sponsorship underscores our ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in our community and beyond. We are excited to be part of SciFest and look forward to engaging with participants, sharing knowledge, and inspiring future innovators.”

“This year marks Huawei’s 20th year in Ireland and the company is committed to creating value for the communities in which we operate. The programmes that we are involved in… demonstrate our commitment to nurturing and developing today’s students to think about the future of our society. We continue to invest in Ireland’s future ICT workforce, and we see this student opportunity as another way to help these students to enhance their capabilities as they continue their studies in STEM subjects”.
