SciFest Invited to Compete at South Africa Eskom EXPO for Young Scientists
The Eskom EXPO for Young Scientists is South Africa's premier science fair, held annually and featuring a series of regional expos across the country. These events culminate in the prestigious International Science Fair (ISF), where top young scientists from 35 EXPO Regions in South Africa compete against each other and against select international participants.
Each year, a number of international fairs are invited to select students to compete at ISF, and this year, SciFest is thrilled to announce that it has received an invitation to participate virtually in the September competition.
Based on the outstanding quality of their projects at the SciFest@College regional fairs, SciFest has chosen Maura Moore-McCune from The King’s Hospital School and Kamaya Gogna from St. Joseph's Secondary School Rush to represent Ireland at ISF 2024.
Maura and Kamaya will also be competing to present their projects at the SciFest 2024 National Final in November, having already secured top honours at regional level. Their dedication, innovation, and passion for STEM are truly inspiring, proving that age is no barrier to achieving greatness when you dare to dream big.
We wish Maura and Kamaya the very best of luck as they continue to refine their projects and prepare to compete at ISF 2024.
