Fenergo Announce Gold Sponsorship of the 16th Annual SciFest STEM Fair

Fenergo to Sponsor Communication Award at SciFest@College 2021

SciFest is delighted to announce that Dublin based and indigenous fintech company, Fenergo has joined SciFest’s growing sponsor community. Fenergo will be sponsoring the Fenergo Communication Award at the 16 regional SciFest@College STEM fairs. The Fenergo Communication Award will be presented to the students whose project, has an organised and clear report book, demonstrates enthusiasm and confidence in their video presentation and can clearly convey how their project impacts the end user. Dublin-headquartered Fenergo provides software for global financial institutions to help them streamline client onboarding and entity data management processes while satisfying anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulatory obligations and enhancing customer experience. Founded in 2008, Fenergo had grown rapidly and now employs over 400 people in Dublin and has a total of 850 employees around the world.

Speaking about the partnership, SciFest’s Founder and CEO, Sheila Porter said; ‘We are delighted to have Fenergo join us as a Gold Sponsor and we look forward to working with them going forward. SciFest aims to support students in developing a range of 21st century skills, not least of which are communication skills. We are therefore delighted that Fenergo will be sponsoring a communication award at each of our 16 regional stem fairs.’

Caroline Grant, Vice President, Human Resources, Fenergo, said: “Fenergo is passionate about encouraging homegrown technology talent and we are thrilled to support SciFest. We are on a mission to grow our technology-based workforce in Dublin and this initiative will help us to tap into and nurture the rich pool of talent emerging from schools and universities in Ireland while reinforcing Ireland’s position as a global technology hub.”

The continuing COVID-19 restrictions mean that this year’s competition will again be online. The deadline for registration passed on Monday April 19, with nearly 700 projects registered. The 2020 competition was also run online and was widely acclaimed as a great success. SciFest aims to give students of all abilities and backgrounds the opportunity to develop research, problem solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Participation in the SciFest programme is free at all levels. Since its foundation in 2006, SciFest has grown from a single STEM fair of 170 students to 99 STEM fairs with 10,000 students participating around the country.
