The Broadcom MASTERS International is organised by The Society for Science and is a companion program to the domestic Broadcom MASTERS Competition which takes place in the USA each year. The Broadcom MASTERS began in 2011 and the Broadcom MASTERS International was introduced in 2012. The international element provides a unique opportunity for 27 students from 25 countries to attend the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and interact with each other in a global exchange. There are 423 affiliated science fairs from more than 80 countries, regions and territories affiliated to ISEF including SciFest so we are very honoured to be invited for the third year running to select a junior student to participate in the Broadcom MASTERS International 2021. This year's program will include students from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, Uruguay, and Zimbabwe!

At the SciFest 2020 National Final judges selected Eoghan Farren from Coláiste Ailigh, Letterkenny Co. Donegal to be Ireland's 2021 Broadcom MASTERS International delegate. Congratulations to Eoghan and to his teacher Siobhán Laighneach.

The Broadcom MASTERS International program will be held virtually from May 16 to May 21 in conjunction with the Virtual Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair(Regeneron ISEF). During the week, Eoghan will participate in a series of Zoom calls with his fellow delegates and have the chance to attend a number of the Regeneron ISEF events and participate in a number of virtual field trips, including to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. At the Virtual Regeneron ISEF Eoghan will hear from notable speakers and check out ISEF finalists’ projects. This program is not competitive or judgedit is an experiential award to celebrate Eoghan's accomplishments and introduce him to new opportunities in STEM.
