SciFest Project Manager



SciFest is a programme of STEM fairs for second-level students. It is offered at local, regional, and national levels and is characterised by a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Now in its tenth year the programme attracted 10,000 participants in 2017 and continues to expand rapidly. The newly created role of project manager provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic person with a passion for STEM education to make a major contribution to the future development of the programme.

This exciting position is full-time with a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience in the region of €60k+. It is offered initially on a two-year contract basis, subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • a degree (Level 8) or equivalent qualification in a STEM discipline or STEM Education
  • expertise and experience in a STEM education role
  • expertise and experience in a fundraising role
  • excellent writing, editing and communication skills
  • good knowledge of the Irish education system, particularly at second level
  • high levels of initiative and the ability to work without direct supervision
  • proven experience of working with industry
  • strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • strong team-working skills
  • a full, clean driving licence and access to their own car

  • management and development of the SciFest programme
  • supporting income generation through marketing and fundraising activities and the establishing and fostering of donor relationships
  • liaising with schools and teachers
  • interacting with the public and private sectors
